Surdass (Servant of the Light) is a true cosmopolitan. Born in Chile, he grew up in Berlin, Germany but has spent the last 12 years living in Ibiza, Spain and has taken his music to 4 continents.
This multi-talented artist started to make music when he was 9 years old, touring Europe with a group of musicians performing traditional music from The Andes of South America.

In more recent years, whilst living in Ibiza, he has started to travel to India giving his music a new direction. These varying cultural and geographic influences have been interwoven with a Western style, as you would expect from an artist who has lived and worked most of his life in Europe.

To summarize all this, the music of Surdass is the symbiosis of all these styles, directions and influences:
- The South American Indians connection with the Earth and nature and their awareness of peace.
- The Indian culture of meditation and devotion.
- The classical direction and electronic style of Middle Europe.

His strongest influence though comes from the devotional and meditative music of India which is naturally linked with his other profession as a yoga teacher.
As you can see the music that Surdass creates is strongly connected with his spiritual path in life. Contained within many of his songs are spiritual mantras sung in Sanskrit - the ancient language of the holy books of this Asian region. He has composed many songs for Shamans (spiritual masters) to be used in shamanic rituals and has taken musical leadership in spiritual schools and institutions. Surdass has obtained an extensive understanding of a diverse range of musical instruments (he plays over 20) and of the musical language itself. He brings together these varying styles that come from his colorful and multi-cultural way of life.
Surdass has been involved in many ecological projects and is presently planning an ecology centre to be based in Chile. To all this he has given his enormous flexibility and creative generosity. This creative flow seems unlikely to stop; he has composed hundreds of songs with new productions starting already.
It is clear that Surdass is destined to become an active part of the Greenheart Music Label and an ambassador for the Greenheart Movement all over the world.
In the future Hector Cornejo wishes to take his music deeper still on a spiritual level. To transport the spiritual energy he feels so strongly in his life to his listeners and to their souls. With this connection he will light the spiritual fire in order to live in universal peace and harmony.

This album has been produced in studios across the world in collaboration with many musicians to go out into the world under the Greenheart Music Label.
Most of the instruments used in the production of this album were traditional, natural and acoustic. Many were played by Surdass himself.
This fusion of cultures and influences is not only heard but felt. The songs were composed in Sanskrit, Spanish and English but transcend any language barriers. All have a strong spiritual and meditative feel making them ideal instruments for healing, meditation and relaxation.
